Sights to See

If you ever travel to Taos there are a few magical places that you must visit. In general it is really important that you eat at lots of Mexican restaurants and visit the local churches. Although everyone has their favorite place, you have to try them all! You should also definitely go to the ski valley and enjoy the beautiful scenery and if you are there at the right time, grab a run! If you manage to get to the valley you have to stop for lunch and sample some of the great food that is served in the valley. There are also tons of little stores and galleries that are filled with both local and imported art. There are lots of Native American galleries where you can find some truly beautiful artwork and jewelry. They are definitely a must see as well. Have FUN!!

The place...oh so beautiful

Taos and the surrounding areas are blessed with a unique and diverse landscape. From high mountains to arroyos and deserts to river basins you are bound to find your favorite landscape while traveling through the Taos countryside. The high mountains are perfect for skiing, explaining the huge attraction of the Taos Ski Valley. Newly opened to snowboarders, it is worth a visit for everyone in the family. The arroyos are home to coyotes and jack rabbits and are beautiful places to walk through and enjoy the fresh New Mexico air.

Due to the lack of forests, the architecture is mostly adobe. Adobe is a traditional mix of mud, sand, and straw that has been used all the way back to the Native Americas. This type of architecture goes beautifully with the landscape and adds to the unique look of Taos, New Mexico.
